Sunday Sessions: Primrose HIll

The hunt for pancakes has once again taken me West (I promise this will be the last breakfast post for a while) to the very cute Greenberry. I spent the day wondering around Regent's Park (this was actually quite early in January) and it was brisk. There were also a lot of joggers vehemently determined to stick to their New Year's Resolution, I have been back since then and there was significantly less in February than January.

Greenberry was nice. I use 'nice' because I think it was slightly overpriced for the portion sizes that I was given. The inside is gorgeous, very high ceilings, fancy tiles and warm lighting and it wasn't too cramped, even though there was a 1/2 hour waiting list. I elected to sit outside as it was exempt from the waiting list, and there were blankets so it was quite temperate. There are also a lot of cute dogs wandering the streets on Sundays and outside was a perfect dog-spotting place. So, the positives- the pancake was delicious (yes, singular, wish it had been a stack, especially as you're paying £9.50 for the privilege). The service was also great. Even though it was super busy, all the staff were chiper and smiley which made the experience very enjoyable. I'd go back but would definitely try something else from the menu, and not something I could make myself at home for a fraction of the price (*cough* fried egg, again singular, on toast *cough*).

After brunch, I turned right and walked 2 minutes down the road and, one two three, you get to Primrose Hill. This may sound weird but one of my favourite things is seeing cities from above, so finding the highest spots in a city is quite high on my to-do list. Primrose Hill doesn't disappoint (contrary to the opinion of Bethan, who says she finds it quite disappointing. You'll just have to go and decide for yourself). I walked over the hill and head straight over the road to Regent's Canal to get to Regent's Park. The trees have lost all their leaves and look quite skeletal but it's still quite beautiful. There are also A LOT of puppies which I'm presuming were Christmas presents. Going for a brisk walk in freezing wind is actually quite satisfying. It clears out the cobwebs. I think my younger self would be horrified to learn that I actually volunteer myself for hour long walks amongst nature nowadays, self-inflicted.

After walking through the park I somehow ended up near Euston and spontaneously (with the help of Google maps) stumbled across this very rustic, hipster independent coffee shop that is very nice for sitting in and reading. One of my new year's resolutions is to try and support more local, independent businesses to improve my carbon footprint, which is how I'm justifying this particular pitstop. Euston is not a very nice place to walk around though, would not recommend.

Itinerary: Greenberry --> Primrose Hill --> Regent's Canal/Park --> I'd just wonder around South Ken instead of going over to Euston to be honest

Sunday Soundtrack:
prxz- Love Wounds: Very calming, easy listening
Brent Faiyaz: Everything on shuffle
